frank. Sustainability inside & outside.

Our aim is to make the entire value chain of our products sustainable.

It starts with sourcing our field-fresh, as regional as possible ingredients and ends with the box that your products arrive in on your doorstep.

Admittedly, we're not perfect. But we do our best! Here you get an insight into our considerations and the current state of our packaging.

frank. nutrients vs. glass bottles

Our juices are preserved using the HPP process (“High Pressure Processing”) instead of pasteurisation. That means we use nutrient-friendly pressure instead of heat to extend the shelf life of our juices.

This lets us eliminate potentially harmful germs while keeping heat-sensitive nutrients and the fresh taste as intact as possible.

Because of the high pressure (up to 6,000 bar!), glass bottles are currently not possible, as they would shatter.

frank. recycling

The bottles for our juices are currently made of 50% rPET and 50% PET.

The abbreviation “rPET” stands for “recycled polyethylene terephthalate”. That means this PET has already been through a recycling loop.

This halves our use of new PET and keeps 50% of the PET that already exists in circulation.

frank. materials

We deliberately decided against alternative materials like bioplastic (PLA), because there are no recycling loops for these materials.

Industrial composting plants are currently not able to break down PLA, so packaging made from such materials ends up in the incinerator.

On top of that, the raw materials needed for PLA come from unsustainable farming. Fertilisers that pollute our groundwater are used there.

But of course we haven't reached the end of the road: every day we work on improving our products, including the packaging, and on finding a more sustainable solution.

first mover for juice-bottle deposit

Since 2020, two years before the general deposit requirement for fruit juice drinks, our juices have been part of the German deposit system.

By introducing the bottle deposit, we can make an active contribution to saving CO2 and protecting resources.

With a return rate of up to 99%, the innovative and resource-saving DPG deposit system is one of the most efficient systems for recycling loops.

Let’s be frank. together.

We donate all profits from the sale of our merch products to Tafel München. In this way we work together to help people in need in our region.

Tafel München is a non-profit organisation that collects and distributes food and other important goods to make sure everyone has access to a healthy and balanced diet.

You'll find our merch range here in the shop.

frank. social responsibility

We deliver our frank. Tea in large containers to bhz Stuttgart e.V. There, our tea blends are filled into the bags, and labelled, that also stand in your kitchen.

This work isn't done by machines but by people with a good eye, care and a sense of responsibility, under the highest hygiene standards.

bhz Stuttgart e.V. is dedicated to supporting, employing, accompanying and integrating people with different disabilities.

Every frank. Tea is packed with dedication and commitment.

frank. Guides

Since 2022 we no longer print our guides exclusively and so act more kindly to the environment by saving paper.

You'll find all the important info on doing the cleanse, including helpful tips for the prep and aftercare, on the flyer in your package.

If you want to dive deeper into the topic and get inspired by recipes for prep and aftercare, check the digital guide in your order confirmation email.
